CBU Medical student commits suicide

A-24-year-old medical student at the Copperbelt University Ndola campus has committed suicide.

Jordan Sinyizye who was a fourth year medical student at CBU Ndola campus reason of committing suicide is not known.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said Simon Msiska a security guard officer 52, reported that he found a dead body of unknown man hanging on the tree.

Mr Mweemba said the security guard was in a company of his friends and as they were doing some patrols around Copper belt University premises in Ndola, they came across a dead body

He said the matter was later reported to Police who in turn visited the scene and confirmed the incident the victim hanged himself using a rope.

“After inspecting the body which was a bit decomposed, a phone was found on the victim and the same was used to inform his relatives.

“According to the identifier (Aunt to the victim) Jordan went missing on Saturday December 3, 2022 around 15:00hrs,” he said.

Mr Mweemba said the reasons for committing suicide is not known as no document/note was found on the victim’s body which contained any reasons for his action,  but the Aunt strongly suspects that his nephew decided to take his life because of credits he had of different people.

The body has since been deposited to Ndola Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting possible postmortem and burial.
