The Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) Zambia with Support from USAID has handed over 90 goats to the vulnerable families of Mufulira district.
The livestock’s were presented to beneficiaries through the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock by CMMB Community Services and Linkage Officer Shankley Moono.
Mr Moono said goats that have been handed over are under the pass on project.
He has therefore urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the goats so that they can replicate for more people to benefit.
And beneficiaries are happy to receive the goats and they have promised to take care of the livestocks.
“Am very happy to the beneficiary of this project, I would like to thank the CCMB for this kind of gesture and we make sure that we takecare of the goats,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Acting District Commissioner for Mufulira Grace Mwinga said that such empowerment should be encouraged for it will boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
