Zambia’s Female boxing Sensation Catherine Phiri will in January return to the ring for the -WBC- Super Bantamweight title fight against Kudakwashe Chiwendre of Zimbabwe.
The ten rounds fight will be Phiri’s biggest local contest following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Eight bouts have been scheduled for the fight night that will be staged on the 29th of January 2022 in Lusaka.
And also making his return to the ring is Alfred Muwowo who will fight Robert Kachiza of Malawi in the fly weight non-title fight that will last for eight rounds.
Charles Manyuchi of Zimbabwe will take on Saidi Mbelwa of Tanzania in the middle weight non-title fight set to last for eight rounds among other notable fights.
And Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions -OQBP-Manager Christopher Malunga said over 5 hundred thousand kwacha is required to stage the bout.
Malunga has also expressed confidence that the bout will be successful as boxers are eager to return to the ring.
