C4’s acquittal in the brim as witnesses fail to pop up

The case in which the notorious jerabo Victor Phiri popularly known as C4 is charged with two counts of rape and two counts of assault has failed to take off in the Chingola Magistrate Court.

Trial couldn’t commerce because the State failed to bring witnesses before court and the state can’t figure out what really happened to witnesses who were well served with summons.

This is in the matter in which C4 of house number 96 Mukuba Road in Chiwempala is facing two count of Rape and two counts of unlawful wounding.

The state applied for an adjournment when the matter came up for trial stating that the state was not ready because no witness was before court despite the state issuing summons to the witnesses.

C4 is accused to have assaulted and occasioned actual bodily harm to Bright Chishimba. Particulars of the offense are that on January 3, 2015, C4 assaulted Mr Chishimba and on February 13, he assaulted Foster Sakala.

And on his third and fourth counts C4 his facing the case of Rape contrary to the laws of Zambia that on September 9, and 10, of 2017 willfully had unlawful canal knowledge of a girl.

Magistrate Chilukwa Chiluba adjourned to June 20 and 22 2018 for commencement of trial.

C4 is also facing a murder charge.
