Bus driver bashes own conductor, dies

A bus conductor has died in a fatal traffic road accident which happened in Monze after the driver of a Mercedes Benz Bus number ADE 1230 hit him while he was reversing the bus.

Acting Police Spokesperson Danny said the accident happened when Terry Mutale 26, of Makeni Compound in Lusaka was reversing the bus and in the process hit the Leornard Mulambi, the bus conductor who was attending to a passenger outside the bus.

Mr Mwale said Mr Mulambi whose age is not known but of Malota Compound in Livingstone sustained head injuries and died on the spot.

He said the accident happened on November 3, 2020 at around 12:25 hours 30 kilometers north of Monze Town along the Great North road.

And a pedestrian identified as who was a bus conductor.

He said Mutale is detained in police custody charged with the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving while the body of Mr Mulambi is in Monze Mission Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
