Bupalo Ward Councillor donates minibus to his ward

By JOHN SAKALA
Bupalo PF Ward Councillor Nelius Mumba of Nchanga Constituency in Chingola has donated a Toyota Town Ace minibus to his ward to end transport blues his ward faces when the community loses one in death.

Speaking during the handover at Kings Clinic today, Mr Mumba said some people in the ward lost lives because there was no transport to rush them to the nearest health Centre.

He said when he was campaigning he promised to buy the community a vehicle to be used during times of problems such as sickness and death.

“I may not be nearby when you need me to provide transport for an urgent matter especially to rush someone to the clinic. Henceforth, this minibus will be stationed within the community, preferably here at Kings Clinic.

“This is your car and choose your own committee to take full responsibility of the vehicle, fuel and the driver’s needs. That will be community participation in this project. But note that the fuel consumption is very good,” he said.

A community member of the area Agnes Muma demanded that the driver of the minibus must be the person from Bupalo Ward and a person who doesn’t abuse alcohol.

Ms Muma said the community has a lot of youths who are not working but have drivers’ licenses.

And Speaking at the same  handover, Chingola PF District Youth Chairperson Martin Simwaba said Mr Mumba is among the most hardworking Councillors PF has in Chingola.

Mr Simwaba said the PF promised to continue pointing (sonta) and the purchase of the minibus means Mr Mumba alesonta (he is pointing at what has done).

He implored the community to work with Mr Mumba so that his burden to serve the community is lessened.

‘Bupalo is the biggest ward in Chingola and the minibus would lessen the problems people face in the distant places within the ward,” he said.
