Boy arrested for owning 2 different NRCs

Police in Monze have arrested an 18-year-old boy of Monze Site and Service for Being in Possession of more than One National Registration Card.

The suspect on October 9, 2020 while being represented by his uncle did obtain one green National Registration Card bearing his name and the following particulars, Muchila village, Chief Muchila, Namwala District.

On October 31, 2020 the boy whilst being represented by his father did obtain another NRC bearing his name, Gwalikumena village, Chief Hamusonde, Namwala District.

His father has also been detained for False Representation contrary to section 13 of Chapter 126 of the National Registration Act.

Both NRCs have been retrieved and kept in police custody as exhibits.

This is according to a media statement made available by Police Acting Spokesperson Danny Mwale.
