Police on the Copperbelt have charged and arrested Bowman Lusambo 43, for Assault Occasioning actual Body which occurred in 2019 during a By-election.
Police Spokesperson Rea Hamoonga said Mr Lusambo who is also Kabushi Member of Parliament , of house number 36, Chamba Valley in Lusaka was charged for the offences of Unlawful wounding and Assault Occasioning actual Bodily Harm which occurred on April 11, 2019 during By-elections.
Mr Hamoonga said that it is alleged that on the said date two members of the National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) were Assaulted by Mr Lusambo and some Patriotic Front (PF) cadres .
He said the two victims have been identified as Mary Musonda who sustained some lacerations and general body pains whilst Stanley Musukwa sustained a deep cut on the head.
The suspect has been released on Police Bond and is scheduled to appear before the Luanshya Subordinate Court soon.
