Police in Kitwe have the body old year Mwewa Kamena, saying they also found the NRC and Voters’ Card in the pocket and was identified as Mwewa Kamema of Kameme C Kalulushi disrict.
Copperbelt Police commissioner Elias Chushi said the incident occurred between on August, 19 at around 15:00 hours and August 2021 at around 06:00 hours at 7 Shaft Area Kalulushi.
He said that the police made the discovery after they had received t a report of Sudden and Unnatural Death
He said that Bornface Ng’adwe aged 42 of House Number A77 Nsokoloko Compound, reported that he found a dead body of unknown male person in the borrow pit where they dig laterite.
“Police rushed to the scene and found the body laying down facing upwards with a bicycle which had no breaks, beside the body. The body was inspected and Police officers saw a deep cut on the chin and fractured right arm,” he said.
“It was observed that the deceased was riding a bicycle towards a pit and failed to negotiate a corner, rolled and crashed into a pit which is about 3 metres deep.” He said.
Mr Chushi added that the body has since been picked and taken to Kalulushi General Hospital Mortuary.
