A Non Governmental Organisation based in Zambia has called on the African Union (AU) Leaders and COMESA Member States to consider bestowing the befitting World status on Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema for his tireless efforts in ensuring peace, unity, stability, Democracy, and development in African Continent affairs.
Governance and Development Advocates Zambia Executive Director Elias Mulenga said this is because of the efforts that President Hichilema had put in the just ended tripartite elections that took place in Zimbabwe, Madagascar and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mr. Mulenga said President Hichilema ensured that the elections were held smoothly without being a breeding ground for armed Conflicts but peace prevailed.
He said President Hichilema has proved to be Africa’s unifying Leader who believes in good governance, democracy and bilateral cooperation between nations and the continent at large.
Mr Mulenga said the Leadership of President Hichilema as Chairperson for the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation has truly pushed Africa’s agenda for Regional peace and tranquillity.
He has appealed to the United Nations principle Organs and all members of the Diplomatic Corps to ensure that the efforts of President Hichilema to lead peace and Security in Africa is recognised while he is still a living testimony.
Mr Mulenga further called on Zambians to support the Republican President in his endeavour to develop the Country and that the people of Zambia should be assured of the reduced high cost of living considering measures the President has put in place for 2024 budget.
