The Peoples Initiative Charter has urged Zambians to be patient and allow the UPND Alliance government to settle before they can start providing checks and balances.
The Charter’s Chairperson Cleophas Phiri said that although the expectations are very high among Zambians, the task will not be easy for the new administration.
“The political season begins 100 days of the new government in office and we have acknowledged that the task will not be easy for the UPND Alliance government, so there is need for the people to allow the new administration to settle so that they can work according to expectations,” he said.
Mr Phiri said that in due time the new government will start actualizing their promises.
He said that calls from some members of the public for some promises to be implemented are understandble but the new administration needs time to settle in.
