Be good examples, Nkhuwa tells Boys Brigade

By JOHN SAKALA
Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa has implored Boys Brigade at Chiwempala United Church of Zambia (UCZ) to be the examples of good behaviour.

Speaking during the Rededication and Enrollment of Boys Brigade, Mr Nkhuwa who is the Patron of Boys Brigade in Chingola said Boys Brigade ought to be exemplary in behaviour.

He said over 90 per cent of the boys that have passed through the Boys Brigade, are of good morals.

Mr Nkhuwa who is member of UCZ at Kabundi congregation but patron for the Boys Brigade in the district said the Boys Brigade teaches discipline and good manners plus good time management.

“If we gloom these boys well, the future of the nation is bright. I’m a product of Boys Brigade and I will continue to live by the norms of Boys Brigade. And because of what I have learnt in Boys Brigade, you will never hear me insult or speak ill of other politicians.

“That is why; I’m encouraging you Christians to join politics so that we have a crop of politicians who conduct clean politics. If you don’t join, bad eggs with sarcasm will take your place and infiltrate politics with dirty mouths,” he said.

Mr Nkhuwa who is Energy Minister donated K10, 000 to Boys Brigade to buy band instruments; he also gave out another K10, 000 to Emmanuel Choir at the same congregation.

He contributed 100 pockets of cement towards the construction of the new church building.

And in sermon, student minister Mutale Mulindwa advised the Boys Brigade and the congregation in general to have a purpose in 2021.

Expounding on Isaiah 55:8-11 and Jeremiah 29:11-14; Rev Mulindwa said a person without a goal or purpose in life end up scoring nothing.

Inducting the boys, Boys Brigade Chaplain Rev. Yona Mumba who is the Reverend Chiwemapala at UCZ said Boys Brigade is a pond of good boys who are brought up well in Christian manner.
