Avoid using own linen at health facilities-Chingola Mayor

Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo says the utilization of the donated blankets to health facilities in the district is a good preventive measure from taking other diseases home.

Mr Tembo said patients coming with their own blankets poses a health risk of taking diseases home once discharged.

He said that it gives a good impression to see that the facilities are clean when he toured Chawama, Kasope, Kabundi and clinic one Clinics that the facilities had enough stocks of blankets.

He said health facilities were lacking blankets and he donated some and still lobbing for more so that there is enough when others are taken for laundry.

Mr Tembo urged the health facilities to use the blankets as some members of the community still complain that they are no blanket.

He said all the facilities that he visited were having the stock and have been using the blankets except for Chawama clinic where he was told that they were at the laundry at Nchanga Hospital.

The Mayor has appealed to individuals and other stakeholders to come on board and help the health centres with blankets and bed sheets.

The Mayor has also urged resident to follow instructions from the health Minister on coronavirus and not relent in observing hygiene.
