Chingola District Commissioner Raphael Chimupi has urged residents in the district to avoid huge gatherings this festive period.
Mr Chimupi said that with regard to the rising number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the country, there is need for everyone to ensure that Covid-19 golden rules are observed.
Speaking to The Independent Observer in an interview, Mr Chimupi called for calm as most residents celebrate the festive season.
“Let us celebrate Christmas and New Year safely, avoid travelling to long distances unnecessarily, this is to avoid contracting and spreading the covid-19 virus,” he said.
Mr Chimupi also urged the Municipal Council to ensure that the campaign posters in the CBD are removed before the year ends.
He said that the elections are long gone and its high time that all posters are pulled down in the district.
