AU lauds Zambia’s democracy

African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat has commended President Edgar Lungu for upholding principles of democracy as well as promoting social economic environment for the well-being of Zambians.

In a letter congratulating  President Edgar Lungu, on the occasion of the Zambia’s 56th independence Anniversary that fall on 24th October, 2020, Mr Mahamat stated that he was confident that under the able leadership of President Lungu, Zambia will continue to make significant strides towards the progress and prosperity of the country.

He further conveyed his wishes on President Lungu’s wellbeing and that of the people of Zambia.

This year’s independence anniversary was held under the theme; “One Land, One Nation, Building our future, Proud and Free”.
