Arrest made in the murder that occurred after two groups clashed

Police in Lusaka have arrested one person in connection with the murder of Denis Mutale killed when two groups of unruly persons clashed during a funeral procession.

And another person was assaulted at the same incident in Kanyama Township.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the incident happened when two groups clashed along first road off Mumbwa road during a funeral procession.

Ms Katongo said that Mutale who had sustained multiple head and body injuries was referred to UTH where he later died.

She said an investigation into the matter led to the arrest of 52  year-old woman whose identity  has been withheld but of old Kanyama compound and a manhunt for other suspects has continued.

In another development police have also arrested Mubita Nawa of Balastone Park , Lusaka West and Anthony Bwalya  39, of Mbawa, Ngwerere Avenue, Chelstone   for the offences of Forgery and theft and giving false information.
