Another man of Kitwe’s Bulangililo Township has committed suicide by throwing himself in the Kafue River for unknown reasons.

Few days ago a man threw himself on the Kafue River at Bulangililo Bridge but was saved by alert members of the public.

Brief facts are that George Siame a Council security officer whilst on duty at council bridge saw an unknown man between the age of 20 and 30 walking from Bulangililo Township going towards the council bridge.

He said upon reaching the middle of the bridge, he threw himself into the river.

By the time they tried to run to his rescue, he was already swept away by the strong current.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said the security reported the matter to the police, who visited the scene and shown the place where he threw himself into the river.

However, a search was conducted but to no avail.
