A-35-year-old businessman, Katula Sinkamba of Same Team Investment, survived a gunshot attack by unknown criminals in Kabundi. The incident occurred on January 10, 2025, around 07:45 hours at Plot #7656 Malile Street, Kabundi North Extension, as he was leaving his yard.

This is the fourth similar attack targeting mobile money transactions in Chingola recently. Chingola has recorded three fatal attacks on money operators, and so far, no apprehensions have been made.

Mr Sinkamba reported to Kabundi Police Post that he was attacked by three men while reversing his Toyota Hilux vehicle. One of the attackers produced a pistol and shot him. Sinkamba, who also owns a pistol, fired back and drove to the police station to report the incident.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner confirmed the development. Mr. Mweemba stated that police visited the scene and found eight empty pistol cartridges. An eyewitness reported seeing three men attack Sinkamba. The witness followed the attackers, who fled on foot to Kabundi East, where they got into a silver Toyota Allion (registration number ABR 6278) and drove off towards Kabundi road.

Mr. Sinkamba was treated at Nchanga North General Hospital and is in stable condition. The police have opened a docket and launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made.
