Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Dora Siliya says the warm and cordial relations that Zambia and Angola have continued to enjoy are historical.
Speaking when out-going Angolan Ambassador to Zambia, Balbina Silva paid a courtesy call on her to bid farewell this morning, Ms Siliya said the Zambian Government is happy with the continued good relations with the sister Republic of Angola and is determined to ensure further growth of these relations.
Ms Siliya who is also Chief Government Spokesperson said Zambia has benefited from Angola in many areas of bilateral cooperation such as the development of farm blocks which the country intends to develop on the Copperbelt and Northern provinces.
She said it is also the intention of Government to ensure that this concept is replicated in all parts of the country.
Ms Siliya said there is, however, still room for the two countries to explore many other areas of cooperation in various fields.
And Ms Silva who has been Angolan Ambassador to Zambia since 2011, has thanked the Zambian Government for the support rendered to her during her tour of duty in the country.
She said Government has also been very supportive towards a number of projects her Government was supporting in Zambia.
She has since pledged her continued personal availability on on-going projects if need be.
