Allow local people operate in the black mountains– Mpembwe

By IREEN MULENGA
The small Scale Miners Association of Zambia Spokesperson Samson Mpembwe has implored President Hakainde Hichilema through the Minister of Mines to ensure that local people start operating at Black Mountains as the process of restoring sanity continues.

Mr Mpembwe is of the view that small scale miners need to be allowed to continue utilizing their 30% allocation which is worth over US $30 Million US dollars.

He wondered why the Chinese have continued to mine from their percentage allocation at the Black Mountains in Kitwe and Luanshya while local Zambians have been stopped.

“We as small scale miners we would like to appeal to the Government through Mines Minister to speed up the process of restoring sanity at all dump sites in a bid to ensure that there is equally distribution of resources in the sector,” he said.

Mr Mbembwe said that the association supports the UPND Government because it’s a Government that stand in the equally distribution of wealthy in the country.
