Director Air traffic charged with dangerous driving

Police in Lusaka have charged a Director Air Traffic Services officer based at Zambia Air Force Headquarters Colonel Handima Gigi 46, for the offences of, driving under the influence of alcohol and Dangerous driving.

Col Gigi whilst driving a Toyota Harrier registration number BAG 3243 caused an accident by hitting into a Toyota Ipsum registration number ALX 6178 along Kamloops Road.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said no injuries or fatalities were recorded from the accident.

Mr Hamoonga said col Gigi has since paid the Admission of Guilty fines in the sums of K450 each for the two offences bringing the total amount to k900.

He said this occurred on May 29, 2022 around 20:00 hours and he was released from custody upon been issued with an official receipt.
