Agness Kayobo Ng’andu wins AU elections

The 38th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union has elected Agness Kayobo Ng’andu as member of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC).

Zambian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Emmanuel Mwamba confirmed the development.

Ms Ngandu received 49 votes out of 51 member states that voted.

And Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji congratulated Ms Ng’andu on her election.

Earlier, Zambia’s Judge Maria Mapani-Kawimbe, who was seeking re-election as member of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child lost the election to Zimbabwe’s Susan Musiwa.

The African Union Executive Council of Ministers was electing members of; the African Court on Human and People’s Rights, the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, members of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption and the Pan African University.
