African First Ladies for Development donates to Zambia’s first Lady

The Organisation of African First Ladies for Development –OAFLAD- in Ethiopia has donated various COVID-19 materials to the Office of Zambia’s First lady, Mrs Esther Lungu as support towards her efforts in COVID-19 response activities.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Emmanuel Mwamba has commended the organisation for recognizing and contributing to the work that the First Lady had embarked on.

He said government appreciated the kind gesture directed to the Office of the First Lady stating that any assistance rendered will help reduce the impact of the pandemic on communities.

And OAFLAD Executive Secretary Mame-yaa Bosomtwi said the donation had been made possible with the support of partners including the Alibaba Foundation with cooperation with the Jack Ma Foundation was meant to supplement the efforts of African First ladies in COVID-19 response activities.

Last month OAFLAD approved a grant amounting to $25,000 for the office of the First Lady in Zambia aimed at improving the quality and uptake of antenatal care services in Zambia.
