The African Methodist Episcopal Church joins in consoling the families of the trapped miners that lost their loved ones through the Senseli Open pit mine tragedy.
Speaking during the donation African Methodist Episcopal Church Bishop Administrative Assistant of Southwest Zambia Conference Rev. Margaret Nkana said through this tragedy they are fatherless children, homeless children, widows and orphan who all entirely depend on the deceased Miners.
She said the church recognize the limitations on resource availability and other challenges faced by the district teams and families in undertaking this work.
Rev Nkana noted that the Church has donated K20,000 cash and K 5000 worth of mineral water that is 182 cases (which is 2,184 bottles of minerals water).
“Therefore as a church we have come to donate what we had gathered from the church members, to bring to you that it can help you to cushion the tremendous work that you are doing as secretariat which was established by his Excellency the Republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema”, she said
African Methodist Episcopal Church Bishop Administrative Assistant of SouthEast Zambia Conference Rev. Micheal Yorum Gondwe thanked government for providing leadership during the recovery and during the hosting of the mass funeral and for the support provided to the families.
And Chingola District Administrative Officer Stephen Monze expressed gratitude for church to render help to the needy rather than prayers.
