Zambian midfield ace Enock Mwepu put in a 71-minute shift for Redbull Salzburg who suffered their second defeat in a space of four days as they went down 3-1 to Bayern Munich away in Germany.
Mwepu started in midfield alongside Zlatko Junuzovic, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mohammad Camara, the former Napsa Stars played started on the right side of midfield. Mwepu could have even had a goal if not for Manuel Neuer’s brilliant save.
Bayern scored their goals through Robert Lewandowski, Kingsley Koman (deflected by Max Wöber), and Leroy Sané while Mergïm Berisha scored Salzburg’s consolation goal.
The result leaves Salzburg rooted bottom of group A with only a single point but with two games to go, The Austrian Bundesliga Champions have a Mathematical chance of qualifying to the next round as second-placed Athletico de Madrid only have five points.
Bayern Munich has since qualified to the next round with two games to space.
Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka missed the match due to injury as he continues on his race to full fitness.
