The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a lecturer at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University for receiving over K16, 000.00 in bribes from students to facilitate their passing in Continuous Assessments Tests.
Kenneth Chisamanga 43, a Lecturer in Pharmacology and Pharmacist of Meanwood Kwamwena Valley in Lusaka has been charged with thirteen 13 counts of Corrupt Practices contrary to Section 19 sub section (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
ACC Head Corporate Communications Timothy Moono said that between January 1, 2022 and November 25, 2022 in Lusaka District whilst acting together with persons unknown Chisamanga being a lecturer at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University did corruptly solicit and received various amounts of cash totaling K7,500.00 from a named first year student in the Midwifery Diploma Class at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University as an inducement or reward for him to facilitate the adjustment in continuous assessment test results and final examination results.
Mr Moono said Chisamanga being a lecturer at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University did corruptly solicit and received various amounts of cash totalling K9,100.00 from another named first year student in the Midwifery Diploma Class at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University as an inducement or reward for to facilitate for the adjustment in continuous assessment test results and final examination results.
Chisamanga has since been released on Bond and will appear in court soon.
