DP President ditches own party

By JOHN SAKALA
The Democratic Party (President) Gift Kaka Kalumba has left his own party to rejoin the ruling PF, the party he served at high level.

Mr Kalumba has been having crossroads with DP Spokesperson Judith Kabemba and severally quarreled openly on The Independent Observer (TIO) Political forum.

The cracks went deep such that PF Bahati Member of Parliament who is dating DP as 2021, seemed to have thrown more wait to Ms Kabemba dumping and forgetting the party president.

Mr Kalumba served as PF Rokana Ward Councillor in Kitwe and District PF Information and Publicity Secretary.

He said resigned from his position to join the ‘Harry Kalaba Movement’ which seemed not smooth at the moment for him.

PF Secretary General Davies Mwila today welcomed Mr Kalumba at a media briefing in Lusaka.

Mr Kalumba said there is no party that has ever delivered like the PF Government.

He said he has rejoined PF because President Edgar Lungu is tolerant and magnanimous leader.

And Mr Mwila said the President had directed that all members who left the party must be brought back because politics is about numbers.

He said the President had always been flexible and willing to dialogue which saw him meet UPND President Hakainde Hichilema a few days ago.

And the phone for Ms Kabemba went unanswered.
