FIFA mourns Leah

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed sorrow on the passing of Zambian ZFIFA referee, Leah Namukonda.
In his message of condolences to Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Infantino said the football fraternity was mourning with Zambia.
“On behalf of FIFA and the word wide football community I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you, to the Football Association of Zambia and most importantly to her family, friends and loved ones.
“It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of FIFA referee Leah Namukonda. We hope in some way our words of support will help bring a little peace and solace in this time of sadness,” he said.
Meanwhile FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has expressed sadness at passing of Carol Chitengi one of FAZ Class one referee.
“On behalf of the Football Association of Zambia FAZ and the entire footballing fraternity I wish to convey my message of condolences to the Chitengi family on the passing of Carol Chitengi,” Kamanga said.
This is according to a media release by FAZ Communications Manager Desmond Katongo.
Namukonda died from fatal road accident injuries in Ndola Central hospital while Chitengi died from suspected Blood Pressure complications.
