The Kasompe community in Chingola has expressed gratitude to Mimbula Minerals Limited for constructing a modern mourners’ shelter and sanitation facilities at the local cemetery.
The new infrastructure has significantly improved the dignity and comfort of burial ceremonies.
Residents, led by 78-year-old Queen Kalumbu, recalled the hardships faced by families during burial ceremonies, particularly during the rainy season. “Rain or shine, we used to stand in the open to bury our loved ones,” Ms. Kalumbu said. “This shelter has brought us relief and dignity. We’re grateful to Mimbula Minerals for listening to our needs.”
The facility was handed over to the Chingola local authority as part of Mimbula Minerals’ corporate social responsibility program, reflecting the company’s commitment to enhancing community welfare.
Mimbula Minerals Director, Davies Mwanamoya, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to social impact. “We’re proud to support our host communities,” he said. “Beyond infrastructure, we’re committed to supporting health, education, and youth development.”

The company plans to renovate the dilapidated Kasompe community hall into a recreational center for young people.
This project underscores Mimbula Minerals’ mission to be a responsible corporate citizen, fostering inclusive growth and development.
