Mafinga Member of Parliament, Robert Chabinga, has called on Zambian diplomats in Ethiopia to follow President Hakainde Hichilema’s lead in attracting foreign investment to Zambia.

Mr Chabinga made the remarks during a courtesy call at the Zambia Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He praised President Hichilema’s commitment to improving Zambia’s economic standing, noting that the country’s international profile has significantly improved since the president took office in 2021.

Mr Chabinga cited the recognition of Zambia’s economic recovery by global economic rating agencies as evidence of the president’s success.

The lawmaker emphasized that Zambia’s enhanced reputation presents a unique opportunity for diplomats to advocate for foreign investment and economic collaboration.

He also stressed the importance of upholding national values and principles, including patriotism, national unity, and collective participation, for Zambia’s sustainable development.

Mr Chabinga’s visit to Ethiopia is part of a familiarization tour of an Ethiopian company specializing in mineral clustering.

In response to Mr Chabinga’s call, the Zambia Embassy in Ethiopia’s Charge d’Affaires, Ms. Kalumbu Mayondi- Phiri, assured him that Zambian diplomats in Ethiopia remain committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
