Police arrest 7 suspects in Nakonde for aggravated robbery, murder, theft

Police in Nakonde District, Muchinga Province, have arrest of seven suspects for various offences, including aggravated robbery, murder, and theft of motorbikes.

This was confirmed by Muchinga Province Commanding Officer, Denis Moola.

The police operation began on December 26, 2024, with the apprehension of Kendrick Simusokwe in Ntindi village, Nakonde District, where one stolen motorbike was recovered.

Simusokwe led the police to Mbala, where three more suspects  Charles Sichula, Joseph Silwimba, and Ben Sichula were arrested, and four more motorbikes were recovered.

The investigation extended to Kasama District, where three additional suspects – Samson Mbuyu, James Simutowe, and Kelvin Kanyanta were arrested, and five stolen KingLion motorbikes were recovered.

Notably, two of the suspects have been identified as the perpetrators of the murder of 20-year-old motorcycle rider Titus Silozi, which occurred on December 11, 2024, at Fresh Air Lodge in Nakonde District.

The seven suspects have been charged and are expected to appear in court soon.
