ALEJO COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROJECT DONATES 60 BICYCLES TO CBVs IN KITWE

The Alejo Community Support Project, in partnership with the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ), has donated 60 bicycles to Community-Based Volunteers (CBVs) in Kitwe District. This donation aims to enhance their mobility as they spread vital information on child health and immunization to local communities.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Alejo Community Support Project Executive Director Alex Mutale highlighted the crucial role CBVs play in supporting the health sector, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
Mr Mutale noted that these volunteers are essential in delivering vital health information but often face mobility challenges that limit their effectiveness.

He has expressed gratitude to CHAZ for making the donation possible, emphasizing that the bicycles would significantly improve the volunteers’ ability to reach more people and carry out their duties efficiently.

Speaking at the same event, Kitwe District Health Director Dr. Francis Liywali warned the CBVs against misusing the bicycles while urging them to guard them jealously.

Meanwhile, the CBV members have applauded Alejo and its partners for the gesture.

Alejo has so far donated 130 bicycles to Community Based Volunteers CBVs in Mufulira and Ndola districts.
