Chingola MPs Spouse urge Women to Become Women of Substance

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Chingola Member of Parliament Spouse, Likonge Mulenga, has appealed to women to re-evaluate their priorities and become women of substance by challenging them to put God first in their lives and support the works of God.

Ms. Mulenga emphasized that women should not just sit idle but rather engage in meaningful activities that bring value to their lives and communities.

Speaking in a speech read on her behalf by Sara Mwila at Bigonga Church during a church building fundraising event in Isaka, Chingola, yesterday, she encouraged the women to have faith in Christ and not just be followers, but to take action and create positive change.

Ms. Mulenga also stressed the importance of creating multiple streams of income to achieve wealth and financial stability. She encouraged the women to take control of their lives, make wise financial decisions, and become women of substance.

Josephine Jere, wife of the Bishop at Bigonga, used the example of Mary Magdalene and the other women who served God with their own resources.

Ms. Jere urged the women to support the works of God without expecting payment. “If we support the works of God, then God will elevate us as women,” she said.

She also urged women to be at the forefront in improving their marriages by taking good care of their homes, husbands, and children, like the Proverbs 31 woman from the Bible.

The conference, which was a fundraising event, brought together women from various backgrounds who were enlightened on several things that women should be doing to become better wives and mothers and keep their homes.

The message of empowerment and financial independence resonated with the audience, inspiring them to take action and become women of substance.
