A suspected mental patient is fighting for his life after an unknown criminal tried to cut off is Genitals in Kitwe.
The victim, a familiar face at the local dumpsite behind Zambeef Buchi branch, was found by young boys with his testicles almost severed by an unidentified criminal.
According to Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba, the attack occurred on December 26, 2024, around 05:30 hours.
The boys, who were picking plastic bottles at the dumpsite, stumbled upon the gruesome scene and chased the attacker away.
The victim was rushed to Kitwe Teaching Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in the emergency ward.
His condition is stable, but the severity of the attack has left the community in shock.
A docket has been opened, and investigations are underway to apprehend the perpetrator.
The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing the culprit to justice.
