A 20-year-old man from Kasompe area in Chingola has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rob his former boss, a Chinese national.
According to Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba, Daniel Mwansa attacked Jacy Chine, 34, using a Teza gun and grabbed a bag containing, K1000 cash, A Vivo mobile phone valued at K9000, all valued of stolen items at K10,000.
Mr Mweemba stated that the incident occurred on December 9, 2024, at around 07:00 hours.
He said Chine was on his way to a workshop near his workplace, Zambia Forea Limited Company, when he was electrocuted on the neck with the Teza gun.
Mwansa was apprehended by members of the public after Chine chased him. The suspect was identified as Chine’s former employee.
A docket of the case has been opened, and recoveries have been made.
