Zambia’s Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati, has praised Fibrecom for its resilience in growing and sustaining its services, providing consistent and reliable high-speed broadband communication services across the country and beyond.
Speaking at Fibrecom’s networking event in Lusaka, Mutati noted that the company’s robust optic fibre infrastructure has delivered quality digital traffic in education and other sectors. Fibrecom’s CEO, Eng. Nga’nalelwa Sitwala, highlighted the company’s commitment to employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance its infrastructure beyond borders.
Fibrecom’s services and infrastructure cover all 10 provinces in Zambia, spanning 15,000 kilometers of optic fibre, with a current transmission capacity of 4 Tera-bits-per-second (Tbps). The company has also expanded its network infrastructure to neighboring countries, including Angola, Botswana, and Tanzania, with plans to extend to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique.
