President Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting businesses in Zambia, aiming to create jobs and wealth for the people. He urged the business community to rally behind the government, highlighting that most of its initiatives are designed to benefit them.
During a courtesy call from a team from Wonderful Group at State House, President Hichilema acknowledged that Zambia had become an unattractive destination for investment due to the debt crisis. However, he expressed optimism about the government’s efforts to create a conducive business environment.
Wonderful Group Chief Operations Officer Frank Mulenga shared the company’s plans to develop thermal power plants to support its manufacturing operations. He also revealed that the construction of the $600 million Urea plant has reached 60% completion and is expected to be finished next year. The plant will make Zambia self-reliant in fertilizer production.
Group Chairman Gilbert Temba expressed gratitude to President Hichilema for creating a favorable business environment, fostering growth and development in the sector.
