Council Workers Stealing from the Poor-Chingola Mayor Speaks Out

Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe Expresses Concern Over Corruption Among Council Workers, Urges Accountability and Transparency.

Mr Kang’ombe has condemned the illicit activities of some council employees who are exploiting vulnerable Zambians.

These individuals are compromising government initiatives and damaging the council’s reputation by providing services without issuing receipts, resulting in substantial revenue losses.

Specific instances include embezzlement of funds for beacon making and grave site preparation.

Mr Kang’ombe emphasized the importance of requesting receipts and urged constituents to report suspicious activities.

Town Clerk Namukolo Kalufyanya pledged to investigate and ensure legal action.

Additionally, Mayor Kang’ombe addressed rising violence in Chingola, calling for increased law enforcement presence.
