UCZ LAUNCHES FINANCIAL ASSESSMENT POLICY

THE United Church of Zambia has launched its revised financial policy which aims to realign the church’s economic resources with the current needs of the community.

UCZ Synod Bishop Festus Chulu noted that with the rapid growth and ever evolving needs of communities, the revision of the policy has become essential to promote local mission activities that are responsive and effective.

Speaking at the launch in Lusaka, Reverend Chulu said that the document is a culmination of collaborative efforts of the UCZ, reflecting its shared commitment to sustaining and enhancing the church’s ability to serve the community.

ZANIS reports that the Synod Bishop highlighted some of the strides made by the church including the provision of healthcare, education and social outreach, serving both spiritual and material needs of UCZ members.

“This assessment policy revision marks a pivotal moment in our church’s history, it is designed to ensure that our financial practices align with our mission and vision for the future,” Reverend Chulu said.

UCZ General Secretary Chipasha Musaba said that a strategic management plan has been outlined that will ensure effective implementation of the revised finance policy.

Reverend Musaba urged the church members to engage actively in the transformative journey towards building a sustainable, vibrant and mission-driven church.

He explained that in order to enhance operations, the church should embrace digitization, by leveraging on the available tools.
