A-26-year-old woman, Florence Mwandila, was discovered dead in unknown circumstances at her boyfriend James Banda’s residence in Chingola’s Kapisha Township.
Mwandila’s brother received a tip-off from a local resident, bana clevant, about her death. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the door open and Mwandila’s decomposed body on the bed.
Neighbor Vera Kasonde reported the incident to police, stating that James Banda was already in custody at Nchanga police station.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba confirmed the incident, noting that Mwandila’s body showed signs of trauma, including bleeding from the nose and mouth, swollen eyes, and a protruding tongue.
The body has been taken to Nchanga North General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
