Car Breakers Busted at Dola Hill Mall

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Three car breakers were apprehended at Dola Hill Mall in Ndola for allegedly stealing two Apple iPads and an Apple pencil valued at over K115,000 from a parked vehicle.

The incident occurred on September 21, 2024, between 21:40 and 22:00 hours.

Lunn Gao, 24, a Chinese national and manager of Lying Dragon Company, reported that his sister, Qiam Gao, 30, had parked her Toyota Mark X at the mall’s fish shop entrance. She left the engine running with doors and windows unlocked, and the stolen items inside.

After discovering the theft, Qiam informed her brother, who viewed the CCTV footage. They saw the offenders, who were driving a Suzuki, following Qiam from the casino. Police officers manning the mall apprehended the suspects and recovered the stolen items.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba confirmed the arrests, identifying the suspects as Mapande Zulu, 29, Patrick Mukushi, 37, a Congolese national, and Queen Mufungulwa, 25.

They are detained awaiting court appearance.
