After coming back from a draw with Mighty Mufulira Wanderers on Wednesday, Super side Kansanshi Dynamos celebrated their victory after beating Napsa Stars 1-0 at home ground in a week 20 of the FAZ MTN Super league played at Nchanga Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Despite a disallowed goal in 21st minute, Kansanshi Dynamos earned a penalty from referee Katiti Maimba after George Chasala’s shot landed on Gift Zulu’s hand in side the box.
The Mabanga boys took a 1-0 lead after scoring a penalty through striker Dave Daka in 45 minute and the first half ended 1- 0 in favor of Kansanshi Dynamos.
In the second half, the pensioners ran riot trying to push for an equalizer but the defence of Kansanshi Dynamos with goal keeper Gregory Sanjese denied them a chance to put the ball at the back of the net.
In a bid to strength the front line, in 65 minute a double substitution was made from Kansanshi, Coach Done well Yobe introduced Chali Mulaisho to Jesse Were and Bruce Musakanya to Timothy sakala.
The likes of super sub Mulaisho added more pressure to the visitors. KDFC could have extended their lead but Daka missed a goal one to one with Napsa Stars goal keeper Muchelenga’nga.
In 68th minute Napsa Stars coach Perry Mutapa introduced Chaniza Zulu to Boster Siyoma. Napsa pushed for a draw but Kansanshi were solid in defence.
In the die minutes of the game, it was pressure after pressure from both teams but the referee Katiti Maimba blew the final whistle and the game ended 1-0 in favor of Kanshanshi Dynamos with Dave Daka on the score sheet.
Speaking in a post- match interviews after the game, Coach Yobe saluted the Mabanga boys for their performance and for collecting maximum 3 points from Napsa Stars before going on a seasonal break.
The win propelled Kansanshi Dynamos on 12th position on the log with 24 points after stepping out the relegation Zone.
