Mulonga Water facilitates facility visit with Chingola Central customers

Mulonga water Supply and Sanitation Company yesterday facilitated a site tour with it’s customers from Chingola central to appreciate the number of challenges that the company is faced with and the projects embarked on to caution the erratic supply.

The entourage toured the Kafue treatment plant and the Kabundi reservoirs and back to the Head office where they had an interaction with Mulonga Managing Director Ndila Hamalambo, Chingola central ward Councillor Frank Makumelo and others staff members from Mulonga.

Mr Hamalambo explained to the customers who have been complaining about erratic water supply in Chingola Central that Mulonga sits on old infrastructure which is dilapidated hence the challenges.

The MD also disclosed that despite that the company has embarked on project that will caution the challenges and improve on services through the Zambia water supply Project.

Mr Hamalambo said that the project is designed to even cater for the increased population for the district with increased capacity.

“As Management we appreciate honest feedback from you our customers whether positive or negative as this help us to improve on service delivery and where you feel we are behind,” he said.

Mr Hamalambo said his team is dedicated to working hard in service delivery and attend to the needs of the customers.

The MD attended to a number of questions from the residents of Chingola Central, pertaining to leaks, blockages, damaged roads after work maintenance and also erratic water supply and the quality of the colour of water which is the major concern.

Mr Hamalambo has assured the people that once the ZWSP is complete the water challenges will be cautioned and the quality and colour of water will equally improve.

He thanked the customers from Chingola central for seeking the company’s audience rather than complain on other platforms.

Mr Hamalambo also urged the customers to ensure that they pay bills to smoothen the operations for the company.

And one of the customers thanked Mulonga for giving them time and taking them through the processes of operations that may not be understood and challenges that the utility firm faces.
