Kwatu Trash for Cash Waste Management launched in Livingstone

Livingstone City Mayor Constance Muleabai has officially launched the Kwatu Trash for Cash Waste Management Aggregation Hub funded by Dachser and Terre De Homes Germany.

Speaking during the launch, Ms Muleabai said waste management is a crucial aspect of development and environmental sustainability in the city and a task that everyone must undertake.

Ms Muleabai said the hub will play an important role in contributing towards the goal of making Livingstone the cleanest tourism destination in the country.

She also thanked Dacher and Terre Des Homes Germany for the vital role they play in supporting the youths in the city; adding that making the construction of the hub a reality demonstrates that cooperate social responsibility can have a profound impact on the lives of the citizens.

And TDS Germany Executive Director Joshua Hofert hopes that waste aggregation hub will help entrepreneurs boost and sharpen their businesses and improve livelihoods through trash collection and also create a sustainable and cleaner environment.

Mr Hofert added that the organization is active in 45 countries and centers on empowering the young people worldwide.

He stated that the organization also protecting children’s rights that have been neglected.
