By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Copperbelt Police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba says a manhunt has been instituted for criminals that stole a Tipper Truck belonging to a Lusaka based Chinese Company known as Western Summer Chingola.

Mr Mwemba said that the theft of the tipper happened in Chingola on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

He said the driver of the Tipper truck was stopped by two male who asked for a lift to Chingola but along the way the driver got tired and one of the suspects started driving.

‘Brief facts are that the Tipper Truck registration number BAZ 1878 was being driven by Francis Kalume 24 of Lusaka’s Garden House. The Tipper truck was driven up to Chililabombwe and when the driver woke up, he discovered that both his legs and hands were tied up using a rope,” he said.

Mr Mweemba said the victim reported the matter at Solwezi turn-off Police check point where Officers informed the Chingola and Chililabombwe anti-robbery squad
