Victoria falls environment receives face lift

Minor hotels in Livingstone have handed over face lifted Victoria falls environment to the National heritage commission.

Speaking at the handover held at the Victoria falls today, Guest of honor Livingstone Mayor Constance Muleabai said the face lift of the Victoria falls supplements governments efforts of bettering and preserving the national heritage cite.

Ms Muleabai further called on Zambians to take ownership of the heritage site by preserving it for future generations.

She also commended minor hotels for face lifting the Victoria falls.

Speaking at the same event, Minor hotels general Manager Laurie Burr said the face lift and maintenance costed over K400,000.

Mr Burr said minor hotels plights in bettering the community through maintenance, adding that the maintenance will be done annually at the Victoria falls.

He stated that the maintenance works took 21 days and had 60 local people working on the face lift.
And Zambia tourism chairperson Daan Brink commended minor hotels for the initiative of face lifting some of the dilapidated infrastructure at the Victoria falls such as the toilets.
