Transparency International Zambia (TI-Z) is happy with the appointment of Rueben Lifuka as the new Chairperson of the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) Council.
This significant announcement was made by the Transparency International Board, marking a momentous occasion for the fight against corruption and the promotion of good governance.
Mr. Lifuka, a dedicated member of TI-Z, has a remarkable track record as an advocate for anti-corruption measures and good governance. His extensive experience and unwavering commitment make him a valuable addition to the IACC Council, where he is poised to make a substantial impact.
The International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) is a globally recognized platform that assembles every two years in various parts of the world. Its mission is to advance the anti-corruption agenda by fostering awareness, stimulating crucial debates, and facilitating networking and knowledge sharing. These efforts are essential for effective advocacy and action against corruption on both a national and global scale.
The most recent IACC forum took place in Washington DC in December 2022, and the upcoming conference is scheduled to be held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, next year.
Maurice Nyambe, the Executive Director of TI-Z, expressed his confidence in Mr. Lifuka’s appointment, stating, “Mr. Lifuka, who currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Transparency International Board of Directors, will assume the role of IACC Council Chair for the next five years.
TI-Z extends its best wishes to Mr. Lifuka as he continues to represent Zambia on the global stage, championing the cause of transparency, integrity, and accountability.”
