Immigration Officers recruitment advert fake

By Staff Writer
The Department of Immigration has disowned a job advert been circulated on various social media platforms as fake.

Immigrations Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka said that some crooked persons are circulating a fake job advertisement on various social media platforms, falsely claiming to be originating from the Department.

“We categorically disown the advert announcing job vacancies for the position of Immigration Officer. This misleading advert did not emanate from the Department of Immigration, but has been concocted and designed by criminals bent on deceiving and exploiting innocent job seekers,” he said.

Mr Nshinka said members of the public are advised that the Department of Immigration is a public institution bound by public service recruitment procedures, which include placing job adverts in a newspaper of general circulation.

He said members of the public are encouraged to verify adverts and notices of this nature with the Department of Immigration to avoid being swindled by criminals.
