In a noteworthy development, Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe and District Commissioner Raphael Chimupi have extended their commendations to Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation for their remarkable strides in the Zambia Water and Sanitation Project (ZWSP).
District Commissioner Raphael Chimupi expressed his admiration for the substantial progress achieved thus far by the project. He lauded the efforts of Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation and urged the Chingola community to embrace the solutions provided through ZWSP to address the water challenges.
Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe echoed Commissioner Chimupi’s sentiments and encouraged the residents of Chingola to exercise patience as the government intensifies its endeavors to ensure access to safe and clean drinking water. Kang’ombe emphasized that the increased capacity of the facility would effectively put an end to the issue of irregular water supply, benefitting the local populace.
The Mayor also expressed his appreciation for the strides made by the firm and urged them to adhere to their projected timeline for completion. He emphasized the importance of consistent progress updates from the company, which would enable local leaders to effectively address community concerns.
Bright Mtonga, the Communications Manager at Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation, shed light on the scope of the ZWSP. Mtonga disclosed that the project is set to extend until the culmination of 2024, with implementation occurring in multiple phases.
Mtonga acknowledged that the commencement of the project’s commissioning would enable residents to witness the transformative changes it would bring. He urged the public to recognize that projects of this magnitude often entail minor disruptions, which will be diligently addressed.
