Over 200 Patriotic Front (PF) Members from Kasompe and Mimbula wards of Chingola Constituency have defected from the former ruling party to the United Party for National Development-UPND.
Defecting Chairperson Moses Mushinka who was PF Chingola constituency Chairperson said they decided to join the ruling party because it is the only party with a future to take this nation forward as they are not leaving anyone behind.
Mr Mushinka said the UPND Party is serving the nation according to it promises and in it shot period in power the party has scored tremendously.
“We have seen so much been done for the country and we believe that this is the place where we are supposed to be. We have the introduction of free education, employment of Nurses and Teachers, NAPSA and Caderism free nation, then what more can we ask for,” he said.
And welcoming the defectors, Chingola Constituency Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga said that UPND is the only party that will develop this Nation forward.
Mr Mulenga who is also Commerce and Trade Minister said that UPND does not discriminate against anyone regardless of how long they have been in the party.
“Iam Happy to welcome you to UPND and feel free this is your Home, let’s work together as one and move this nation to another level.
